(August 25, 2018) – Ottawa, ON
It is our pleasure to announce that Cumberland United Soccer Club and Capital United Soccer Club have agreed to merge formally into a single entity beginning with the 2018-19 season.
Having formed a strategic alliance last year for the 2017-18 season, both organizations enjoyed a great season on the field and have been working towards taking this next step for several months.
With the changing landscape of soccer in Ontario and Canada, and the noticeable trend towards clubs working together as partners and affiliates, this move marks a huge step forward for our new single club to make an impact in the region, and province.
We will be releasing more detailed information in the weeks to come, as we embark on an exciting time of rebranding the clubs into a single new club, and building a common future together. With a firm focus on players first, and a shared values-based leadership approach, we hope to continue building a club that provides a premier soccer experience for players of all ages and levels that we can all be proud of.
Thank you for your continued support, and see you on the field!
